Introducing the mission of KLPhotowards, Steven will present a selection of his personal favourites from the past archive of finalists from 2009 - 2024 with a general discussion on what makes a 'good' portrait.
Sue Anne Koh
Photographer Sue Anne Koh presents an insight into her portrait project "They too, are seen", through a personal connection with the Tong Sim Care Home, where stories of forgotten seniors are seen, remembered and honoured. She secured a full sponsorship for public exhibition of the project in Kuala Lumpur in 2025.
Nadirah Zakariya
Photographer, producer - Sharing “The making of hatsuyume (初夢), a portrait based project developed from a residency stay at the foothills of Mount Fuji and was exhibited at the Two Mountains Photo Project 4.0, hosted by Sabah Art Gallery in Kota Kinabalu.

Join Nadirah Zakariya as she presents the artists and projects that inspired and influenced her personal work over the years. She will share her 'milestone' projects and commissions, and discuss the importance of portraiture in contemporary media, including editorial storytelling, advertising and self-identity.
Under her guidance, during this workshop, participants may create their own portrait that reflects emotional depth and narrative in the surroundings of Hin Bus Depot. Suitable for those who wish to deepen their skills in creative portraiture.
